Our story
The Tortonese Hills welcome us
The beginnings
From finance to the world of wine
This has given me economic independence, customer relations skills, and a predisposition for teamwork. However, when corporate dynamics began to want to reset individuality to zero, to conform to a one-size-fits-all, fully controlled model, I could no longer resist. Firing me was crazy but liberating.
With more time on my hands, I approached the world of wine, first obtaining a Sommelier diploma, then earning a master’s degree in Wine Management and Communication at the Alma School of Haute Cuisine in Colorno.

Then attendance at Wset to delve into the dynamics of international tasting, and lastly the Ais Taster diploma, to acquire the ability to transform a tasting data sheet into a narrative text also suitable for guidebooks. Then numerous seminars to try to have more and more tools at our disposal. Years of study, in-depth study, always with the understanding that this is an endless path, where training, study and passion must always accompany us.
Meanwhile comes an important meeting, that with Timorasso and Colli Tortonesi. It became a thesis topic for the Master’s program; I deepened my knowledge of this grape variety with the help of Walter Massa, interviewed him, followed him for a year and also became passionate about another topic that was important to me: the Screw Cap. The presentation of this work, in parallel with my achievements in the course of study, allows me to be awarded as the best of that edition of the Master’s program.
Great satisfaction.

Meanwhile comes La Stellara: a historic farm in the hills of Volpedo.
I decide with my husband to buy it, and set up our vineyard and winery; not an easy but exciting journey. The vineyard is now ready, and the first anna and we have already started to produce a few hundred bottles to introduce ourselves.
A glimpse into the future
Quality & Territory
The choice of the winemaker, Gianfranco Cordero, who will accompany us on this adventure. We wish to produce a wine that expresses with extreme sincerity the peculiarities of this magnificent grape variety and of this territory with great potential.
By now we always talk about Territory, an overused term that is, however, difficult to replace: let’s try to talk about places and people. The place is that of the Tortonese Hills, at the crossroads of several regions: a continuation of the Langhe with which it shares the origin and soil composition.

The people: courageous, far-sighted, ingenious; thanks to the example of Walter Massa, they had the courage to bring back to light an almost forgotten vine, enhancing its longevity characteristics , with a univocal but at the same time individual vision.
We are not a historical winery: we try to learn from the great people who are writing history here; what we are sure of is that we will try to convey our passion and tell our story with quality wine that can excite and convey the values we believe in.
Our label is the first story we thought of carrying; it is a sketch by Pellizza da Volpedo that depicts a vineyard in our Cascina, and he mentions it as ” Cascina La Stallera 1893.”
Discovering this draft was exciting-art and wine. If people know the soul of places and people, they can understand and appreciate what those people produce.
